NEA Issues *WARNING*

Now that is a hard one to swallow a $3000 AR complete sh!t but no BS warranty is the good part. Makes me wonder if those "expensive" ones are actually worth the money.

You paid $3000 for a core 15? What did you buy 3? lol. They go for like $1100-1300 depending where you look.

Deagle, have you shot the new upper yet?
I haven't got it yet. The rifle got to ON SFRC today. So hopefully they process the transaction tomorrow and sent it out so I get it by next weekend. I already called them and told them to put the last Troy M7 under my name. Its funny how they had 3 left and 2 were gone within a week so I got scared and called them.

They are all gone now except the one we are holding for you. We'll get it processed once we get the gun.

Awesoommeeee, tracking said its at the PO office ready to be picked up. I dont what you guys have done to the CP delivery dude that he doesn't deliver your items to the address or he's just a lazy fu ck

I sent in a couple pics of my gen 1 front rail as it has small cracks just in the finish of the metal near the fugly side mounting bolts.
The cracks have always been there and haven't got any worse .Today ...just three days later I had a new gen 2 front rail and barrel nut delivered free of charge.
The new rail has a couple improvements to it. New design of front side rails , new barrel clamping system and more holes in the side of the rail.
Also it is a little darker in color than my original one.

I have had no issues at all with my rifle other than that and I am very happy with the fast replies and customer service from them .

Pics of the 1st gen side mounting bolts that have the fine cracks just in the finish .

next question.....Is there anyone nearby locally who has a barrel wrench and can change out the front rail for me ? :)

The rail that came with the second gen was actually lose and after 500 rounds it had turned to 2 oclock and I had to turn it back to 12. I didnt notice it because my sight was mounted on the upper receiver rails. No more NEA for me.

That was cool of NEA to do that for you. Sending you a free, updated rail for a cosmetic issue like that is not something many (any?) AR manufacturers I know of would be inclined to do.
You don't need a barrel wrench to change out the front rail. Just loosen the old handguard at those side pinch points and then rotate it clockwise (from the position of holding the gun) and it will unlock and slide off. New one installs/uninstalls the same way.

Thanks Runningfool !! Just took it off .

Chalkriver:

Your original quad rail is an earlier generation issue and uses the standard barrel nut found every where and anywhere, I believe. :p

You replacement that NEA sent you is a newer generation version and uses THEIR Proprietary Barrel nut that is slightly larger in diameter. I'm hoping that they shipped you one.

You are welcome to send me the upper receiver and that new quad rail for the install if you want. I have the tools to help prevent #### loss!

Hey, you ready for an AR clinic up in Petawawa? We are gonna lose all kinds of detent springs and plungers on the Firehall shop floor.

Cheers and keep helping them nooobies out there!

I was just talking to someone who's been waiting 17 months for a replacement part for his $2700 XCR-L. There is something to be said for products that have a 1 week repair turn around time.

chalkriver what kind of scope/mount is that on your NEA?

The problem is not NEA warranty, the problem is that the rifle was made out of trash parts. Also how many issues RA has compared to NEA ? Ive heard maybe 3 or 4 issues from XCR owners. But more than 15 from NEA owners including me. Many of those guys who have had issues with NEA rifles dont complain because they might have had 1 or 2 issues. I had three and I was told to piss off by the president of the company when I asked for a replacement rifle or refund. Thats what pissed me off so I started this thread. Rant off.

Thanks Barney . Yes they shipped a new barrel nut with it.
I have been unable to get the gas tube out after removing the drift pin ....and then spending 10 minutes looking for it under my bench.
I will go see someone who knows what they are doing tomorrow ..lol

Guiltysparc it is a Vortex PEPR mount and a Vortex Crossfire II 1-4
