NEA Issues *WARNING*

It certainly didn't help matters when all those out of spec lowers, parts kits and gas blocks etc was flogged by sponsors that carry NEA. I even received a barrel with no key way. That stuff should of been destroyed and not sent out to the public in my opinion.

Lots of people agree with you. But parts sell for far more than scrap metal. aluminum fetches about 35 cents a pound, do you see any Ar lowers that sell for that?. that is why IMO all these bad parts were released, once they have your money you are at their mercy to get some value for that money. It keeps capitol going into the company so more material, tooling and everything else can be bought. This is of course just my opinion.

I suspect the reason you got a bbl with no "keyway" is that an AR bbl doesn't have a keyway.

Exact reason NEA should not trusted.

A family Member has a NEA 7,5" 300 Blackout upper on a Colt lower I put a a Nicol boron BCG in it based on reports of issues with NEA bcg's , I have to say if one of my kids was behind a rifle with those types of issues I would have seriously lost my #### !

I just don't really understand how so many issues could befall one company , it sounds like the production line is flawed , what % of the NEA parts are being outsourced ? I know that many Canadian companies have parts being produced in Taiwan yet these companies products are of decent quality Marstar & Dlask sell many of the same products .
I have to comment on the dust cover finish and quality on the .300 black out upper were not the best .

I guess the ? is is it safe to use these parts in Builds ?

Sorry it was linked to a current one and I did not realize it was old I was about to buy some parts from NEA .
Said NEA .300 Black out has about 3600 rounds down range with no issues forgot that .

You are a real special needs kinda guy ! I was about to purchase a $1800 lot of NEA parts I was led to this thread having only herd about BCG issues , when anyone see's pictures like those I am sure they will ask questions , the .300 Upper not rifle works fine with a nicol boron BCG .
I have read about out of spec lower parts kits , Split flash hiders burst fire etc
I was bashing nothing only commenting on what I read

So the rifle works fine but you just wanted to take the time to bash it anyway? Classy!

No reports of injuries yet. The real question is have you marked your .300 and .223 mags? That should be the bigger concern than where components are made.

My Dad was in manufacturing for 30+yrs and used to laugh when people looked down on parts made overseas, you can build crap anywhere in the world.

I've been using random NEA parts in my builds for years, other than a 223 barrel with a gas port a little too big I've never had any problems with their stuff.

I bought an NEA 7.5" 5.56x45/.223 a while back from my buddy for cheap. I think it was the GEN1 but I'm not sure exactly how to tell.

Regardless, did I have issues? Well, I did have a few minor hiccups at first (rifle ran overgassed so hard it would still cycle without gas rings on the bolt, gas block then exploded, the chunks fell out of the handguard). I think these problems might have been a deal-breaker for some other people without access to a machine shop. After making a new gas block the hammer pin broke but that was an easy fix, I just turned one from a hardened chrome dowel pin.

Rifle works fine now that I've adjusted my handmade gas block to cycle correctly, and the gun is pretty fun for what I paid. Wouldn't mind trying a GEN 2 rifle if it was the right price.
