NEA Lower Question/Problem... HELP!

i have one of the "factory seconds" light coloured NEA lowers. my ghetto norinco upper fit perfectly fine in it. Mic lugs of the upper and compare it to others to see which is out?
 
I just checked mine and it fit 2 different uppers that I have. I'll admit that it's a snug fit, but they do fit...

I also pulled out the calliper and measured a few of my lowers to see what the range was. I measured them all at the pivot pin where the lower meets the upper. Here are the results:

NEA = 12.63mm
SOCOM = 12.69mm
STI = 12.87mm
RRA = 12.70mm

Opinions will vary, but I say .06mm - .07mm (when compared to Socom and RRA) is close enough in this case, haha

Wow I am totaly shocked that your lower is out. By the way that lower needs to be about three thou bigger, nominal being .498. This amount would not be unusual if a worn endmill was being run (the tool wears too)

That's just me tho, I have patients, a lot of tools, and a reasonable amount of skill for such things.

Tell us exactly which part he should file the anodizing off of...

Which of your "many tools" would use for such a job?

Yep, consistent with running a worn endmill. Just a few thou too tight. I'll see how the upper I'm getting fits. It's well used, so it may drop in fine.

Its only logical that its the NEA part thats wrong because NEA is well known for poor QC and the upper fits in another lower.

OP, my strong advice is to return the lower and get your money back. Like someone already said, treat this as a valuable learning experience!

I was satisfied with my first impressions of the lower itself, but am a little concerned after I tried to slide my stripped Spikes upper receiver into the lower to see how it would pair color wise... key word there being tried... There was no way that upper was going to slide into place on the NEA lower. It wasn't even a tight fit, it would take some serious sanding/filing to get enough clearance for the upper to go into place (which I am not really comfortable with).

Is it normal for an upper not to slide right into the lower? The stripped Spikes upper mounted right up to my Motiuk lower right from delivery with no issues, a perfect fit. Should I be concerned, has anyone else encountered a similar problem, or what are suggestions to resolve this issue?

Thank you but I still stand by my comments...it happens everytime a thread goes bad...strange I know...I could have sold more if I had them in stock.

Now back to putting 6 skids of new stock on the website...maybe even the Danner Boots :)

Just tried mine on my NEA upper. Fits very nicely. The lower does have a lighter, greyer finish than the NEA upper. No biggie. I'll report if I run into any problems with the installation of the small parts and trigger group.
 
Everything went great on the lower parts install, other than the bolt catch pivot pin. For some reason the brownells roll pin is undersize and not a tight fit. I'm going to have to do something about that and try another pin.

Its not only the brownells pin, the mil-spec pin will not fit ether. If you use a larger pin then it will not fit through the bolt catch hole.

Well that's no f'ng good. I guess I will have to spread a roll pin and use some loctite. Can't have that pin falling out during a shoot.
