NEA Parts Quality?

Second gen, third gen... I honestly have no idea what we're on - only that QC issues keep cropping up. Do we count "half" generations where first or second gens were recalled/retrofitted?

Raise your hand if you've personally experienced a comparable bolt failure at 450 rounds. On any firearm. Anyone? Anyone...?

I was only trying to point out that it appears some people here are suggesting that outsourced BCGs from questionable suppliers are being put in NEA guns currently and this is not the case.

Well, the lower is apparently the latest gen. Or maybe it's not... So my point is that you just never seem to know what you're getting. Which is fine if it's a box of Cracker Jacks; not so much with an AR...

who said their lower was out of spec???
mine mated up with either a noveske or a hk upper (i forget which we tried, but it fit perfect and passed a function test)

same old haters hating I see, "soft yfs screws" "dont make their own barrels" ect ect adding to the pile of disinformation that internet jockies throw around... parts break, no matter what brand, at least some brands own their mistakes and fix it, at their cost.

btw - my BCG does not have yfs screws. my quadrail does though.

I have seen Diemaco bolts fail after a 1-2000 rounds. Brand new rifles for Bisley. NEVER fired full auto. NEVER took anyones face off. a couple lugs, a single lug, blown extractors....
This is going nowhere fast, and I am enjoying it!

Not that failures are not possible, but this seems unlikely.

EVERY CF bolt is fired on full auto for a 30 rd burst at the factory. EVERY bolt is high pressure tested and Magnetic Particle Inspected. Been that way since the first ones came off the line. CF bolts are interchangeable and not tracked, not are the round counts. I have seen hundreds of brand new C7s with very old phase I Colt's bolts in them.

Every lot of bolts has a number of random bolts selected to fire 6,000 rd endurance test, half on full auto with NO failures.

I have seen lots of failures in MILSPEC bolts, and most of them can be explained by very high round counts, or being pushed beyond design tolerances.

There's another thread where the culprit seems to be the lower.

Same old shills, too. ;) Yep, and some brands just don't have to fix them, either.

...Or questionable sources.

NEA doesn't make their BLANKS, they certainly do make their barrels. As usual, misinformed.

Parts break. You got a replacement on the way in an hour. So were you happy with the experience then?

Reputable 3rd party manufacturer supplied bolt. I'm sure that there will be some that would suggest that they should have test fired 500 rnds through every single component that was to spec, even then that wouldn't be good enough.

There was also a correlation with some crappy hot norinco ammo being used I believe.

Dave, you are the most full of sh!t person I have ever run across. The blank IS the barrel. Would you consider the guy who puts a body kit on a car and paints it to have made the car?. All the important technical work has been done when NEA recieves the blanks. Unless NEA is bringing in barstock and turning out finished barrels they are not barrel makers they are cake decorators.

MG etc, once again thank you for turning this into an NEA hate thread. You've now sold me out of NEA's again. 9 complete guns in the last 24 hrs....not including the 45 lowers and 4 or so complete guns last week.

Btw, if anyone would like an NEA made barrel...which they made from a blank created by another company as almost all AR barrel manufactures do...they will be on the website tomorrow.

Pics or it didn't happen... ;)
Funny... same thing happened last time which made me place my order.
and i remember Ryan posting a similar comment.

Thanks for my NEA Ryan.

It happens everytime. Everytime Mg4something goes sideways on here sales increases. He has to be the best NEA salesman of all time.

Glad to hear you are doing well Ryan. I hope your success continues.

You mean the soft firing pin retaining pin? At any rate, please re-read my post....I made no mention of an out of spec BCG.

In a properly made BCG the retaining pin isn't taking any force, its just there to keep the firing pin from falling out the back of the BCG.

I purchased a bcg through your site last night, but not because of the bashing that is going on here. I simply couldn't find one anywhere (and yes I saw the $150 one on the ee, never got a response from the seller).

Curious though, if my face gets blown up due to using this bolt, do you offer any type of money back guarantee/shared cost of facial reconstruction?

This has to be the most bizarre form of effective advertising. Ever. :D
