NEA Problems

As stated previously, the rifle was returned with a new 14.5 barrel, new mid length gas system, and new quad rail.
I think the rep who I spoke with in my first conversation with them simply made a mistake in what he advised me of.

i bought an NEA lower....installed DD parts kit. Works fine.
I then bought an NEA 300 Blkout upper. It is out of spec...the bcg would hardly move...NO OTHER BCG i have works in it. I had to remove some material from the NEA BCG to function in the upper,...I only use that bcg in it, as it is obviously a faulty upper. I contacted them...no real progress was made. I mentioned I tried to other BCG's in it, and then the communication dropped. Nothing heard. I will not buy another NEA product, nor recommend NEA to anyone. I had another NEA previous to this 300blkout upper, and it worked fine. I sold it though.
 
NEA got back to me and asked me to send in the entire rifle. Shipped it off, and the rifle was received at NEA this Tuesday. Not sure where it stands with them, but I will report back when they tell me what's up.
 
Drop me an email at sales@theammosource.com and I'll forward your info to them. They have had a few changes in staff and some emails weren't getting replied too.

Hey ryan, My buddies bolt broke on the 3rd round ever through it (7.5" with CCS). From what I understand he had to pay csc to have it fixed. I will be the new owner of this rifle when the paper work clears - if there are more issues will nea warrenty the second owner,and is the sale@ email the best?

Exit: I think he purchased from you orig. I'm checking if he has reciept

I just had a wiggly rail replaced by NEA (old style replaced with a new style). The old rail would move up/down, side to side. I ended up sending them my upper, and they installed it for me. The new rail and barrel nut is rock solid compared to the old style.

Email response was sporadic, to say the least. Persistence is the way to go, and eventually I got my upper fixed.
 
Received my rifle in the mail today. Seems they dropped a new bolt and carrier into it, and lubed it up till it was dripping. Again, super fast turn around on the work done. We'll see if the problems are fixed, tomorrow.
 
Given how well my first nea 14.5" parts gun ran I did another budget build nea from used components sourced from equipment exchange. It's a 10.5" nea slick side upper with an nea15 lower with DD lpk.

Thing runs like a champ. Zero stoppages or issues. Not quite as accurate as the 14.5 that consistently puts down 1/4" groups (the 10.5 is consistently getting 1/2 " groups at 50 meters which will be fine for multigun and cqb games).

Not a huge fan of the slickside upper but that is just personal preference.

The nea bcg on my 14.5 has a much better fit and finish compared to the new dpms bcg I bought for this 10.5" build ( the only new part other than sights).

YMMV but I am stoked to own 2 cdn made AR 's that thus far are as reliable and more accurate than the C 7 I carried for a number of years.
 
My cousin loaned me an NEA last week. Me and the boys took it apart and went over it with a fine-toothed comb. The verdict is that it is a well-made rifle. Locks up tight, very little play in the moving parts.
 
I lent my NEA 14" carb to an army buddy today and he shot the BC CQB match with it. No issues at all he was hitting well. I had no idea that muzzle break was so fricking loud until I was behind him watching! Damn quite the flash and boom!!! Very distinctive from the other rifles on the line!

Ohhh, Im nearing the completion of my NEA build, and all these post have me nervous. I've heard a lot of good things and bad things. If this post is still going when my rail gets there, I'll complete my build, range test it and post my verdict.
 
My bolt sheared right in half where the cam pin goes through...very low round count...They were quick to agree to send me a new bolt/cam but it is a GEN 1 barrel extension and they can only provide a replacement bolt made of the same material as they have started making a new extension that takes a different bolt design...Hoping it doesn't happen again...

Kind of.... I mean, the rifle was flawless for 15k+ rounds, and started experiencing issues only after the barrel was replaced after being shot out, and NEA is doing their job to get it back in order. I would say the issue is that the new parts dont jive with the old parts, which is to be expected. The rifle has been a tank otherwise.
