I have a gen3 I bought "new" off the ee. Does not hold zero, with signifcant change in POI.

Last range visit I perfectly zeroed my aimpoint at 100m. Went out today and it was .5m high and 1m to the right. There is noticable up and down play, nothing quite as agrivating as having a near $1000 optic on a rail that doesn't hold zero.

I "beat" my rifle pretty good, so in a SHTF situation the NEA gen3 cannot be relied on if it can't hold zero on a truck rifle.

Should I try the newest gen, or just sell off the aimpoint and go back to irons? I really love the aimpoint, but it is so painful to know I can't even trust it.

... A PM would have resulted in pictures, a longer set screw for the gen 3 and a gen 4 at cost. I'll buy the aimpoint off you.

I have Gen 3 and 4 uppers and they both will return to zero. Keep in mind there is a LOT of difference in dimensions between individual rifles out there.

I agree.

My solution. When the time comes, I'm going to buy a restricted 858 model and this gen3 will be mounted to look pretty. At that point whatever is the latest NEA mount will be installed on my non-restricted CZ858.
