NEA upper handgaurd for CZ 858 Help

Hi everyone I have an NEA co-wittness upper handgaurd for my 858 and the pin that locks it down is supper tight to get in even with lube

anyone now a fix for this or any trix to get the pin in and out i have to tap it wit a small mallet.

any help would be great.

Have you had it long ?
Mine was super tight when I first got it , but is just right now , after taking it apart for cleaning about twenty times .
 
That's normal for a new pin and handguard set. I've got a handguard that's probably been on and off my CSA 50 times and I still use a small hammer to install and remove it.

A tight fit allows for better return-to-zero.
 
Try loosening off the small set screw on the underside, not to much as the F$#@&N little ballbearing will end up on the floor (ask me how I know).

same for me it was hard to remove and install , i remove the little ball and spring i was always loosing them when removing the handguard , i put the pin and turn the allen set screw to lock it
 
My upper was really tight. I don't have an optic on the handguard... yet, so I squeeze down with my palm of my hand on the upper, tilt the rifle sideways and my pin falls out.
The original pin was hard to grab the by the head, so I replaced it with a threaded machine screw, which I like way more. The new 'pin' pops out easier then the original. It doesn't screw in.
I cut the machine screw 2mm longer then the original. The thread prevents the pin from backing out. So far so good. I also cleaned up an imperfection on the pin grove on the upper that made pin removal rather difficult, now it take half the effort to remove the upper.
With the little tweaking I did, the upper is super solid and I'm pretty confident it will still hold zero with an optic mounted. I have the option of using the original pin, but I like the look and performance of the machine screw.

Where are you guys buying these? I need another and cannot find them in stock anywhere. Im subscribed to this thread or you can PM me. Any help with be appreciated with milkshakes if you come to YYC.

Wow you guys are sharp. I checked them just a day or two ago and they were out. Just placed my order for another! These things are too good to not have.

Better jump on it quick, they don't last long. I gotta place another order for a couple other NEA doodads before they sell out again.
