Waiting for reviews from the first (and probably second) batch... and IOP pricing ;)

Im waiting for IOP pricing as well. ;) Or even might just pick one up on EE for cheaper. Like every single other " New " rifle that comes out...lol...

Just put down payment on a preorder from first batch :) I'll let you know when I go to range to sight it in if you want to stop by and try it out. If you're still in greenwood bud

Got moved but I might be back down there for work soon. I'll let you know for sure

Most amazing thing to me is that people are jerking themselves off about a rifle from NEA. It's like watching someone get excited about a new model Chrysler.
I can see how the idea of a non-restricted AR10 that costs $1750 would be exciting. One can hope that more reputable manufacturers eventually follow NEA's lead and come out with a similar but higher quality product.

That sentence encapsulates precisely what I was talking about.

I use to haul cars. There's some Chryslers that are worth getting excited about...

Hey, I'm a Mopar guy (as a Jeep owner anyway) but ever since Fiat took over Chrysler their already subpar products have gotten worse. They're even screwing up Jeep lineup. ####ing Renegade? European diesel engines after Wrangler owners have cried for years for a diesel option? Bah.

An AR10 was on my want list for years, but not as a restricted firearm. And a modern hunter for 4k$ is unfortunately well out of my price range. This rifle hits a perfect market and at a pretty decent price point, consider they could have charged 2700$ and still had customers line up.
Also former NEA shenanigans and bolt problems aside, it's been a long time since I read anything negative about them or their product outside of sheer personal opinion.

Was in the store yesterday and got to fondle one. Much nicer than I expected! I found it balanced really well, the handgaurd filled the my hand perfectly and didn't feel like it weighed all that much. I'm in love! Got my order in, now hopefully they are done in time for me to take it moose hunting up north...

Good to hear your initial impression was so positive that you got in on the pre-order!

Did you take any pics yesterday?

Cheers
Jay

Well now, I have seen some recent things about NEA that were carbon copies of the old.

That said, I'm not rooting against NEA (honest!) and I hope all you lads get fine rifles. My only point is that I would be very leery about dropping $2K -- taxes and shipping in -- on a gen one rifle from NEA. Enough people tell me the sky is blue I don't need to look out the window.

SFRC and Ryan are site sponsors. I'm sure it's in their best interest to post close up pics here. Jay, why not PM them? As a mod here, you have more pull than us. I'm sure they'll be happy to oblige.

I'm sure they are aware we all want pics & I have been tempted to jump in my truck and drive 2 hours (one way) to SFRC to handle the NEA102 on display BUT... The OD Green is supposed to arrive next Wednesday & I'll be driving down to get it, so I don't want to repeat the trip...

I was hopeful someone local, maybe in Kingston, would post pics if they were lucky enough to see the NEA102 in person!

Cheers
Jay

Damn, 5 days seems like a long time right now... Oh well.

Well the first run or rifles has dust covers, so I would hope so. Not sure about the bolt release.

I have to say for the features this rifle is offering it is coming in at a great price.

Ambi safety
Fluted barrel
M-LOK handguard
muzzle brake (threaded for blast redirector thingy :p )
Only $1750. One of the cheapest non-res black rifles to ever hit the market.

I can't sleep I am so excited for mine to come! SOON.

That's pretty cool. Now if 308 wasn't so expensive I'd seriously consider one. Maybe they'll make a 556 version.
