I got the Norinco at $475/1000 in GP. The stores regular price is $535.

However, I feel that I may be interested in getting into reloading.

If you shoot enough it is worth it. It is still very difficult to reload for .50c/rd for .308 though. Bullet prices are the limiting factor. The great part is you can create very good quaity ammunition for the price. You can have premium quality ammunition for 75c-80c/rd though which is where you get massive savings.

Yes, can someone please take a picture before a few folks have an aneurism?

Chuckle!

This is me 'peaking in' on Ryan @ SFRC... As you can see, I'm a looker AND Ryan just about pooped his pants!

Pics, we need PICS!!!

Cheers
Jay

Was in the store yesterday and got to fondle one. Much nicer than I expected! I found it balanced really well, the handgaurd filled the my hand perfectly and didn't feel like it weighed all that much. I'm in love! Got my order in, now hopefully they are done in time for me to take it moose hunting up north...

That's awesome to hear. 8.9 lbs is reasonable for an AR10 in a similar config with a 18.5" medium profile barrel and similar furniture. Take the POF 308 Edge SPR at 9.5lbs for example. Or other SR25 / HK417 stuff. If this thing shoots straight and chugs through ammo reliably, it's going to be such a win for the black rifle guys in Canada.

I'm in on the first batch of black ones, trying to not get my hopes too high but goddamn is it hard !

Great to hear. Interested in the rifle but I think I'll let other people fund the pre-orders and I'll wait for reviews before I put any cash down.

I weighed my work C8 the other day. 10lbs unloaded. This rifle with my scope and mount I have will be 10.9 unloaded. Not too bad.

Link for cheap bulk ammo doesn't work for me and I can't find anything on their site for that price.

Use this link.
https://www.wolverinesupplies.com/P..._Norinco-7-62x51--145-Grain-FMJ--1000rd-Crate - steel cased, .48 cents a round, surplus

Other choices, local for you:

https://www.reliablegun.com/en/barn...00rds-case-lacquered-steel-case-non-corrosive - steel cased, .77 cents a round before tax, non surplus
https://www.wanstallsonline.com/aguila-7-62x51mm-nato-308-win-150gr-bt-fmj-500-round-case.html - brass cased, .80 cents a round before tax, non surplus

Use Campro 147 gr and range brass.

My figuring is I am reloading for about 40 cents a pop. 4.8 cents for the primer, 10 for the powder, and just about 25 for the projectiles.

You end up with very consistent, brass cased, non steel-core, and non corrosive ammo - that doesn't make you flinch over the cost of pulling the trigger.
