I am finally starting to build my first AR from one of two NEA15 lowers I picked up 3 yrs ago on sale.
however looking at them both they are different slightly.
One has a serial ending in D and it has an extra threaded hole under the grip as well as the hole for the take down detent is under the grip instead of behind the buffer tube retainer plate.
What is the purpose of the difference? Should I build the more "standard" one or this "D" model.
I'm new to this whole thing so hopefully someone can shed some light on this for me.
Here's pictures of the two side
