Didn't you read the thread title?

Guy has choice, shoot cool as S**t gun or put the old veiny cigar in blender lol.
Now that would make a viral video.

Maybe he's one of those guys that get off on self mutilation? I still go pale thinking about all those horrible videos of dudes getting their junk stepped on, puntured etc.....how the hell that's fun is beyond me, but to each their own, lol!

Yes, the original AR10 by Armalite, however majority the 308 rifles on the market right now are scaled up AR15 based manufacturer's own claims.

So the armalite and the NEA are original AR10 and all others are Just up scaled AR15,s

Or the NEA is an upscaled AR 15 , and if they let this go NR,then they have to let all others go NR?

This is all so ridiculous , what a mess

Other than the gas tube being on the side instead of on top, the bolt and buffer tube being larger, and the charging handle location, can you tell anyone how the lower is different on the original vs the modern?

The ar15 is a scaled down ar10. The ar15 was refined, and those refinements passed on to the ar10 platform.

The lowers haven't changed much in either scale from the originals. By that margin alone the ar15 is a variant of the AR10, and that is a one way street. It doesn't go backwards.

This makes more sense

Last we heard the RCMP recinded the Non-restricted status after saying it would be.

The FRT was approved in-principal in March, for release in June, but I assume the Trudeau-ites got involved after Orlando(?)

This is second-hand info, so govern accordingly.

Well that is disappointing news (3rd hand info) to say the least!!

I get what you are saying, however none of the 308 rifles manufactures are claiming their rifle is it is a descendent of Amalite AR10, they are commonly referred to as AR308 and the RCMP lab is going by it, that is the issue that is causing the problem.

I thought the Libs wanted the RCMP to classify firearms instead of politicians. Unless it's for political gain of course.

Thats correct an AR in 308 is either an AR 10 platform or DPMS platform know as the AR308 but it can not be referred to as both.

What is the difference in receivers between the AR10 and the AR308??? Buffer tube size isn't enough to charge a type or a lineage.

So to summarize there was the AR10.

Then, the AR15 got made.

Then the AR10B came into being, based mostly on the AR15 (which they don't say how), the AR15 being was based on the AR10 in the first place.

So now we have an AR10, and an AR10b aka the DMPS model.

So that still leaves the original AR10 style being of a lineage straight from the original AR10 and not influenced by the AR15, which was its offspring.

As the AR15 is, by Canadian law, restricted, and the original AR10 is not a variant of the AR15 (the RCMP even allude to such in recent classifications)....

Why is the AR10 pattern still restricted? If you want to argue the AR10B/DPMS is restricted as a variant of the AR15 then fill your boots. But you can't be a variant of something that came after, and the AR10 came before the AR15.

Just like the FN49 isn't prohibited as a FAL variant.
