So it's been about 9 months in the making, and I'm finally close enough to do a post about it. My goal with this build was to do a relatively inexpensive build, as well as not your typical CQA1, in other words nothing but magpul on it. Not trying to bash your norcpul (I use some of their products) but it's just not for me.

Anyways, on to the specs and costs.

Norinco CQA1 w/ 14.5 inch barrel - 699.99
5.11/Viking tactical 2 point padded adjustable sling - 55.00
Accu-wedge - 7.99
Vortex strikefire red/green dot - 189.99
Magpul CTR stock - 79.99
KAC RAS - 40.00 (bought severely used from kamloops gunshow)
Misc. Offset light mount - 20.00
Fenix TK15 - 89.99
Tapco stubby foregrip - 50.00
UTG rail covers - free! (came with an old SKS build)

So in total I'm into it approx 1200 less ammo and mags.

I still plan on adding the following:

QD picatinny sling mount.
Magpul MBUS gen. 2 rear iron sight.
ERGO A2 storage grip. (I like the A2 grip)
A better mount for the strike fire.

I don't have any intentions of ever doing a range report, because I don't believe in shooting half inch groups with a carbine, I'll save that for the long rifles. I usually shoot this at silhouette size targets at 50-200 meters.

Anyways, on to the pictures...

Started out as:

Nice!

You do realize that buying and possessing the magpul stock in Vegas is in violation of US federal law? Might want to watch how much you share here where you illegally buy US hardware in the US.

Just saying...........

how did you replace all that furniture and NOT the standard grip?

every time an a4 stock is sold , magpul makes 25$

nice build tho, i have a norq too, have fun man

Typo...I meant in Vancouver.....
As for the A2 grip, I just like its simplicity. Feels good and solid.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Haha.
Glad yeahll like it.

Is the rifle? No. Am I, yes.
All the Christmas decorations on this rifle are purely cosmetic. Other than the optic which I think makes it's easier to shoot accurately.
But I never intended to use this rifle for accurate shooting. I'm hitting What I want it to and that's good enough for me.
