Neat rifle with allot of miles under it.

So nothing really special about the rifle itself?

I think I get it now it's so big he uses it as a walking stick and that's why the OP said the rifle has a lot of miles under it.....

I don't think I would ever think to use any of my rifles as walking sticks but they are either not long enough or I am too tall.....

OP

Can you tell us anything else about the rifle?

Barrel length?

It looks massive but maybe the guy holding it is not so big?

I hope I didn't miss these details in your cryptic post!

Some of us appreciate things for what they've done rather than what they might or could do.

So what has it done?

Besides being used as a walking stick which you've explained..... Did it shoot that bear? Did it save his life or someone else's?

I guess we are all supposed to know this old timer and this rifle but that appears not to be the case.....perhaps you'd care to enlighten the masses of ignorant gunnutz around here like myself!

Thanks in advance.

I was going to mention that the internet is huge and some of us don't know what the hell this thread is about?

Then the original poster seems to get all snippy on us because we are so dense.

That is an awesome bear! Is it in his house or something? I would love to have that in my house!!

I think Chuck is testing us.....obviously this means a lot to him and probably this man is famous in certain circles but as time passes old legends fade and if a person is not willing to relate the story to younger generations then it fades for good.....

Heard that name before and saw the bear mount in a taxidermists advertisment or magazine but its not bringing anything to mind. Supercub, I'm going to some popcorn and a soda, what you want?

On a side note, there is a fellah from home who didn't start hunting until he was in his 70's if I remember right. He has since hunted most of the globe with his Sako 338 WinMag with the exception of a dart gun for his Rhino. He is still hoping to get a Cheetah but they are having a tough time with permits etc. Saw him today, while in his 90's he is still spry as ever, just slowing down on the safaris.
