Nice story with history of the gun and about it owner, Pic's look great.

The red tipped round, looks like from the pic (sorry a bit blurred) to be a factory shotgun round. If it is made of a cardboard type material and has serrations on the tip, then it is like the shot rounds also made for the 45ACP round. They were made also for the Thompson SMG for use in riot and jail control.
