Neck size new brass?

I guess I should say, the reason I ask is that looking at the brass when I was home last weekend, the case mouth was not round. In section it had a somewhat square shape with radiused corners. New Winchester brass BTW. I was wondering if the neck should be circular before they went into the seating die. Or will the seating die take care of that?
 
Simply run new brass over an expander ball. That's all that's needed.
edit: notice you have collet dies and are a new reloader so likely don't have an expander ball. Just neck size 'em in the collet die then.
 
I recently made the mistake of loading some new .223 Lapua brass without prepping them. Neck tensions were all over the map and so were the chrony readings. I ran the next batch through the lee collet die and deburred the mouths. That did the trick.

New winchester brass huh? I recommend neck size, chamfer, deburr and primer pocket de-burr. then load 'em up.
 
I'd run them through the full length die. New brass is unlikely to even touch the die on the body, but it will round up the necks. Its hard to chamfer dented necks.
Useing the collet die would be better than nothing.
