Seems to be a pretty standard practice in the target shooting world. I do it, but have to admit I have never done an analysis to determine if in fact in increases the accuracy of the round (in my gun).
Keep in mind that you will eventually have to FS, as the brass does stretch. I normally neck size until the bolt gets a little bit harder to close on the reloaded round, then FS, trim, and start over. -dan
after 6 hot reloads on 300 win brass most still did not require a full resize....
Oh yeah you could feel that the bolt was "tight", meaning that the brass was properly sized to the chamber. Too tight? no.
I sold the rifle so I full resized, trimmed and annealed all my brass for the next rifle.
I can get straighter ammo partially sizeing cases in a full-length die than I can with my neck bushing dies. That eventually lead to getting full length and even some SB FL bushing dies for tight chambered rifles. If there was a loss of accuracy I sure can't detect it.
There may be accuracy/case life advantage to neck sizeing in sloppy factory chambers, but I find myself loseing enthusiasm for seeking to fix the gun maker's problems on the reloading bench.
