What makes a "neck size" only die,is it the die body....reason I ask,is I bought a set of dies awhile back, never used them...got to looking at them and noticed what i though was the FL sizing die turned out to be a neck sizing die, which is great anyway.....but I just wanted to make sure there is no way that a neck size die could be used as a FL die, even if the decapping pin and center pin assembly has been changed ?
My apologies if this is not clear...I'm terrible at trying to explain things:redface:

If it's a Lee neck-sizing die, then you can't use it for full-length sizing because the Lee die uses a collet to squeeze the case neck against a mandrel, sort of like the way a drill chuck squeezes a drill bit.

RCBS dies they are.....I was just wondering if a neck size die is just that,"neck" size only.....I am not sure if the internal die dimensions are the same between a "neck only" die and a FL die(will it effect the shoulder of the fired case and what not from a neck sizing die)...am pretty sure a neck size die is just only what it is intened for

No. A neck sizing die can not be adjusted to full-length size a case.

Also you will have to get a full length sizer as eventually most cases have to be set back in order to chamber properly.
