Neck sizing dies

I am thinking of buying a Redding deluxe die set, and was wondering if you still have to lube the cases when using the neck sizing die?

No, not necessary, just a little lube inside the neck to make the expansion ball move easy.

Buy the Type S dies that require neck bushings, and get rid of the expansion ball.

I use the Redding neck sizing dies and don't use any lube with any of them.

I throw a little bit of hornady oneshot on the cases before I neck size and havent had any problems.. it doesnt take much, just smooths it out a bit

I have never actually used neck sizing dies before (other than the Lee collet). I usually partial size with the FL sizer. Would there be a issue neck sizing for a single shot like the Ruger #1? I might be concerned with the lack of camming action compared to a bolt action.
