Question:
What is the acceptable neck measurement tolerance for .308 brass before and after firing ? The Hornady neck gauge I'm using is giving me a reading of .002" - .003 after firing and the same reading for unfired new brass.
I'm measuring the outside diameter using Hornady's neck wall thickness gauge. I'm not sure if I'm using it properly..... I'm want to know if my re-size die is distorting the cartridge neck causing excessive bullet run out. Not sure if I'm making sense, been watching too many you-tube vids
so you're seeing a variance of 1 thou in the thickness of both fired and unfired brass?? I think that's what your trying to say........
that's pretty damn good for factory brass that isn't stamped lapua.......
