neck sizing vs full length sizing

I'm curious how often you can use rifle and pistol brass with just neck resizing before you usually need to do a full length resize?

I'd guess that load capacity affects it...whether it's light, moderate or high pressure.

depends on the gun without sounding moronic- you have to full length resize for all autos, pumps and levers- they don't have the camming action necessary to seat neck sized cartridges- bolts you can get away with just neck- all your pistols are full length as well, and a good one to follow is a 3-4 and out for the 305 regardless of the pressure

Couldn't have said it better. t-star is bang on

I personally full size everything. Pistol for sure, but also all my rifle rounds for bolt, semi, or lever. Never saw a difference, and in fact, in some instances, I have to use a small base die to full re-size cases for my Savage 10TR
