Neck turning? Is it 1 and done?

I outside neck turn and inside neck ream, with only some cartridges. I did not compare the difference of standard to neck turning, however, all of my rifles shoot sub-half-inch, except for one. To answer your question, outside and inside is only required once.

It all depends what you are doing. If you are loading rounds for your hunting rifle it’s probably not going to make any difference. But in a match rifle you will see a difference. If you have a tight chamber you will have to turn it initially to get the correct “release” for you bullet. I use a fairly loose necked chamber (.006 release or so) and still neck turn my brass initially to make sure it is all consistent. I rarely have to take more the .001 of the od of the neck. Like Jerry I find that if I don’t maintain the necks after, I start to get inconsistencies that I can feel while seating and can see on target. It’s amazing how much brass comes out of the necks after one firing then sized and expanded back exactly the same using the same neck turn settings. Brass flow is a thing.
