necking down 30-06 to 25-06

For those that have done this, has anyone ever done it in one step, if not what if the preferred procedure.

I will have some .270 and 30-06 brass to bring down to 25-06 so any advise will be appreciated.

I have made 100's of 25-06 like that,just one pass in the 25-06 die.If you have a tight neck you may have to turn the necks but it makes nice brass.

make sure you lube the inside of the neck it makes it easier

You can also use 270 if you run out of 30-06. You have to cut the neck back as it will be a lot longer after it is finished.

I've done .308-to-.243 in one pass.

Have done 25-06 out of 30-06 in one pass. Have also run the 30-06 int a 270 then down to 25-06, had one batch of brass that is the only way it would work.

Your case neck will become both thicker and longer - all of that brass has to go somewhere. Ensure that the thickness of the neck wall is consistent and appropriate for the chamber of you rifle after seating the bullet of your choice or excess pressure will result...
