NECO: Quickload software... Shipping Rip Off

I was about to buy Quickload software but they want US$25.00 to ship a CD
That is bloody ridiculous and they have no option for a download delivery as opposed to a hard copy delivery, makes sense when they can make an additional $20 over and above shipping cost.

Does anyone in Canada sell this software or a product like it?

What planet are they on? (Or do they think WE are on?) I created a dummy order with shipping to Bellingham, WA and they only wanted $8.95. (Mind you, I can order a CD from Amazon US and only pay $2.98 to there.)

They say on their website "There is no such thing as a foolish question." I'd like to know how they justify $25 to ship to Canada.

They charged me $14.95, USPS

Write them an email, asking for a price quote for delivering USPS, they may lower the price.

I'll call them on Monday... $15 is still a bit high but it's better than $25, I had a music CD shipped from Germany for $7 got here in 4 days!! $25 indeed.

This is crazy, anyone want to remind these people what year this is?!?!!?
They will send you a CD that you have to wait for 4-6 weeks on international shipping and pay an extra $25 to a courier. This is data. They should join the 21st century and learn that data can be transmitted over the Internet for free!

I found torrents for both QuickLoad 3.0 - 60.8 Mb for the image and QuickLoad 3.2 - 128.1 Mb for the image in less than two minutes. NECO has the same flawed business model as the RIAA.
 
I buy tons of stuff from the 'States and encounter this all the time. MOST (but not all) Americans are very reasonable if you send them a polite (not sarcastic) email pointing out that you can send a CD to Canada in a small bubble envelope for less then $5.00. But it's all relative; we have lots of GunNutters picking up free brass from the range and selling it for as much as they can on the EE. Is one any better or worse then the other?

It is actually under $2.50 anywhere in Canada.
DVD size case as long as it fits through the slot in the checking template at the Post Office.
 
I ordered quickload today with the $25 shipping and a guy got back to me saying shipping is only $5.
 
Drop them a line. I paid something like $5 for shipping. The calculator for shipping is screwed and I recall somewhere on the website they mention that. Order the stuff and they will only charge actual shipping. I have dealt with them for a number of years and have always been happy.

I was wrong, got another email that the international shipping IS infact $25. Retarded, I've had CD's sent before for $5.

It can be. Or the shipper may be choosing a relatively pricey - fast, tracked, insured, etc - method. Some shippers don't know about the lower cost options, or don't want to use them.
