AS the title says i want a .22 rifle, i like restricted weapons and military style rifles..
my father bought a cheap marlin but i dont like it, i want something cool.

My friend brought his 22 to the shooting range and i enjoyed it.

He had a ruger 10/22 with the Archangel conversion kit.. his rifle was looking like a g36 with a red dot sight.

Now im ready to buy and i was thinking maybe the guys on CGN have something better / cooler?

im stuck between this rifle : http://www.archangelmanufacturing.com/2012/09/17/archangel-nomad-2/ and the ISSC MK22.

i dont care if i need to buy a conversion kit, i want something cool please suggest me something guys.

Thanks

I really like the 10/22 platform and really like the metal SR22 feel but as I am on a budget I did a Ruger build over the summer using a ArchAngel 556 kit. I was almost ready to do a Nomad kit when my Ex Military buddy said that kit was a tad bulky and that I should just stay with something that felt closer to my AR15.

So I pinned and installed a sling clamp on the sliding stock tube at 670mm and installed a factory 10" Ruger Charger barrel just can't say enough about the accuracy and handling of it.

I do wish it was a metal stock kit but it works just fine for my needs and fills the need to shoot when I am not at the range unlike my AR where I can only shoot at the range. This setup with a 50 round drum worked well on gophers.

Just to warn you cause most won't, if you go the 10/22 route, expect to spend atleast $1000 on the build including the gun.
I'm building a 10/22 my expected costs are,
$280 10/22
$81 axiom stock
$275 tactical solutions barrel
$50 extra mags
I'm going to do my own upgrade on the trigger but some go the kidd or timmey route ($200+)
My guess with all the upgrades it might shoot as well as my BTVS on short distances but still won't matchit at long distances.
Another option is an SU-22
Folds, takes black dog mags and is ready out if the box. It will outshoot most stock 10/20s!
There is a AM180 conversion that I bought that means you can have a 275 round drum magazine!
Just my 2 cents

I have an sr22 and a 715T flattop both look cool but only one reliably works.... The sr22. I would not hesitate to get a 10-22 and an archangel stock as i do find the sr22 a tad heavy once all the rails and accessories are attached.

If you like poly go with something other than the MK22, MK22 is metal other than the lower
Tac driver. MK22
There is an adapter to give it a threaded barrel ( replaces the flash hider ) screws on ( third party )
hxxp://www.kygunco.com/issc-mk22-msr-silencer-adapter-37237
22 round mags ( standard ) 10/22 anything over 10 is a hit and miss ( mags are costly but work )
MK22 has several different screw heads ( more tools ) mags will require special driver to take apart and clean
Both had problems .. Now fixed for both ..
MK 22 feels right ( light / solid )
MK 22 has a hold open last round
MK22 more complex ( this is a negative and a positive ) will need some blue loctite
I own both ... Have not wrapped my 10/22 in any third party skin .. If I had to give one up .. Bye bye 10/22
MK22 comes with iron sights in the box
Lots of established 10/22 mods
You can buy a screw kit online to substitute AR pins for MK22 main takedown screws, and should you ever need to break down the bolt, replace self tapping screws with bolts and nuts ( do not forget the loctite ) sub $20
All a matter of choice. ...

Thompson ! Now you're talkin' cool. On the other side, a long black Savage 64 sniper could also fill the bill. For a stock carbine, the Buckmark Rifle needs nothing to be cool.

To sum up what most people find out, stock 10/22 don't group that well. That is why there are alot of pics with swapped barrels. Why do you think there are some many aftermarket barrel companies? The 10/22 is the honda civic of 22s. It works fine and will get you from place to place but won't do it in style or with performance.
My guess is once you get your gun and add the kit, you will see other 22s out shoot your gun or your groups will be so large that you will want to fix it.
If you are only going to shoot say 25yds and maybe 50max. A stock 10/22 will do just fine.
I'm just sick of people posting how great there gun is but don't explain that they have sunk $1000 into the gun.
Proof is in the EE and people asking $800 or more for the gun.

thanks for your advices guys

@ little airwolf: why so much upgrades??? if i got from ruger10/22 to archangel with an optic my gun will suck?

Accuracy ... is cool... JP.

Agreed. Only black .22 that interests me is the Kel-Tec SU-22...but I've also never tried one. I have held an SU-16 and wasn't impressed. I like bolt guns, and hitting what I'm aiming at is as "cool" as it gets. Happens more with bolt guns than out-of-the-box, inexpensive semis...unless they're Marlins. :)

You may be better off looking at EE for what you want. Lots of tactcool updates there. For me I want something that will out shoot my buddies. You will need a new barrel at least. Look at Kids or Valkerisen(wrong spelling) these are more money but they shoot & will last your grandkids. My idea is to spend once and then enjoy. YMMV good luck. Aj

My sugestion iis try and find an Rhineland R22, Ive got mine for 500$ it has great accuracy, AR15 trigger and is made off good quality material , the only downside are the stock and the reliabily issues (15$ spring for the mag release solved mine
