Need a cheap 300 win mag

I wouldn't buy a "cheap" .300winmag period. Id buy something half decent with a long barrel. As someone mentioned before, ".300 win mag and cheap don't go together". Other calibres are better in cheap guns. Im no expert (im a pistol guy) but my buddy bought the savage. He liked it at first but after putting some rounds through it, its not that impressive. Its "OK" but its still a $500 gun. Why not get a cheaper calibre to shoot that performs almost as well? I shoot cheap guns myself but if I was getting into a big boy calibre Id be spending at least $800-900 on a big boy gun.

I've got a Stevens in 300 win mag that I got a great deal on, just to see of I liked it, knowing I could sell it if I didn't. Well, while it kicks like hell with full power handloads, it is also stupid accurate, maybe my most accurate rifle, and will shoot honest 0.5" groups if I do my part (180gr Winchester PP's over RL-17). All I did to it was lighten the adjustable trigger and done was done. Honestly it can't be beat for an inexpensive freezer filler that I won't get ticked about if I scratch.

BTW, I was always also a fan of longer barrels, 26" minimum, for magnums, but this rifle will safely push 180's well over 3100 fps, so, I don't regret it only having a 24" tube.

It's not for sale.
