Need a competition air pistol.

Check out AirGunsPlus in Saskatchewan. He has a variety of air pistols suitable for 10m competition.
You might be a bit challenged to find one for your budget.
Also, check out Target Shooting.Ca as well, to see if there are any for sale.
While there are some that are adequate, using CO2 cylinders, you will quickly outgrow them if you stay in the game, meaning you will end up buying another gun in the future.

What is your shooting level?

An Olyimpic contender has different needs and expectations than a casual target shooter at club level.

Check out the IHZ 46M as a low(er) to mid-priced option for a single stroke pneumatic.

For a club casual level, look for a Daisy 777, or lower 7x7 series. From the 717 up, the price and component quality rises.

Lots of used very good quality guns out there in CO2 power. Mostly supplanted by compressed air in the high levels of competition, and the gear junkies want to run whatever won the last round at the world's... Some deals to be had.

I got a great deal on a Pardini K60 CO2 gun a few years back. Sold it to a fellow that was going to shoot more than grasshoppers with it.

Dig around the web for the Pilkington Guns Forum. Pilkguns targettalk, IIRC. There is a buy and sell as well as manuals and instructions for a bunch of target guns.

Good luck!

You could try and find a new or used Tau-7. THey are a CO2 pistol, but I have been very happy with mine, good trigger, sight and grips. It is not an olympic class gun, but then most of us are not olympic class shooters. Mine has taken me from 0 to shooting 540's on a good day in ISSF style 10m matches. If you are already shooting >540s, well maybe you need to expand your budget!

I have a Marksman single-pump, .177 that I got at Cdn Tire a few years ago. I see the same gun there now labelled "Beeman". Supposedly 495 fps. Trigger is adjustable with an allen key. Cost: $99.
At 10 m it shoots "better than I can". You can develop a lot of shooting skill with this one. IMO it gives more consistency than CO2 guns.

Where should I look and what do you recommend for competition 10 meter pistol. I don't have a huge budget. <$1000

Thanks in advance, Dana

For < $1000 your best bet is to look for a good used air pistol. Sometimes great deals pop up. I know of 2 Morini 162EI air pistols that sold for $1000. New they are $1800 + taxes! A Feinwerkbau Model 2 goes for ~$500, but they are CO2. Nothing wrong with CO2 WRT accuracy. I made master class on a model 2! But if you plan to shoot at higher level matches (national or international), you can't count on having CO2 available for recharging. If you're flying in this is a major problem because you have to fly with empty cylinders.
