Can anyone recommend a gunsmith or machinist who has capacity to turn and mill a custom part for me? Material is 4130, dimensions are approx. 2" in diameter by 2" long.
Does not have to be CNC. Regular lathe and mill with indexing head would do just fine.

I have many custom projects going on, so this has a potential for long term cooperation.

Tolerances are hugely important. A tolerance +/-.005 will cost significantly less than +/-.001. Surface finish requirements are also critical; calling for a 1Ra (super/micro finish) finish will easily cost you 5-10x more than 32-64Ra (fine-smooth machining). Calling for bead blasting may also cost some more.

Most dimensions will have 0.005 tolerance, but few will require 0.001.
Some surfaces must be 0.8-0.4Ra. The surface finish can be handled separately from manufacture, thus fine machining is fine.
Location does not matter, this can be shipped back and forth.

I'll assume you mean .8-.4Ra Micrometers, and not Microinches. .8-.4Ra Microinches is an almost impossibly smooth surface. However, if in Micrometers, it corresponds to 32-16 Microinches, which is well within the range for finish machining. What are you making?
