I acquired this bayonet that was marked as a carcano bayonet. I did some research and quickly figured it out it was a Finnish one. (Fiskars is a dead give away).
After removing some rust more markings appeared. My research shows that 7000 were made from 1936-1938 for the civil guard. Apparently these are one of the more rare Finnish bayonets because of the SK.Y marking.
Value seems to be 250 - 500 USD. Is my info correct? What is it actually worth?
It has the round knob for the frog. Seems like most do not have this
Its in kinda rough shape but you should have seen it before I worked it over. It is smooth now but clearly there are some black marks and some pits on it.
Apparently the SK.Y and Fiskars combo is rare? Also the =S looking mark is more common?
The "S" serial number means it was made for the Civil Guard?
Could not find info on what 45 means.
Any help would be appreciated. Especially price, I would consider selling or trades
