need a good book

Can some one point me to a good book that explains about building a precision rifle. Free floating a barrel --bedding---truing a action--barrel twist???? I have been doing a search on the forums but I would like everything in one place. Something I could take to work and read or when I'm in the hotel. I would like to understand why you do these things and why it makes a rifle shoot better.

"Accurizing the Factory Rifle" by M. L. McPherson

"The Gunsmith Machinist" by Steve Acker

"The Complete Illustrated Guide to Precision Rifle Barrel Fitting" by John L. Hinnant

These are some of the books I have. All are good and have varied approaches to many topics. I Have taken different techniques from each to come up with my own way of doing things. I have read a few other books as well but don't remember the names right now.

If you are just starting out I recommend the first one, "Accurizing the Factory Rifle" by M. L. McPherson, and get yourself a Brownells catalog while your at it.

I'd sell mine if I didn't use them every now and then for reference.

Do a google search for any of these title's and you will find lot's of places to buy them new and used. I ordered mine from Sinclair's but I know Brownells and Midway both sell them too. Really not to hard to find gunsmithing book's for sale online and not that expencive, maby $30 -$40 shipped at the most.
