Need a inexpensive first pistol for the wife...

Any chance she/you might be interested in a 22lr?. I have a GSG 1911 in 22LR and it's a great gun. Nice fit and finish. Very little recoil and very reliable. Also it's very cheap to shoot. It might be worth thinking about.

Or you can pick up a brand new browning buckmark for 350....for 400 you get stainless barrel and slide and fibre optic front sight....reliable, accurate and fun

Get her a Julie Golob M&P 9MM. Gun has excellent sights and comes with pink grips. She will love you for it. As an aside S&W donates money to breast cancer research with each gun sold.

I'd suggest look at MP9, G17 gen4, and SR9

I've introduced many many girls to shooting, and they've all bought MP9's. great ergos, great customizing, crisp trigger, great value. G17's are also great value (through the IOP sales), but have a trigger that takes getting use to.

My wife has an older G17, but is jonesing for the MP9.

SR9 is also the heat, although, not as many "accessories" for it.
