Need a little advice about a Sako

I have run across a pre-garcia Sako finbear in 7mm rem mag. The gun apparently shoots very well and the round count is very low. The metal is in good shape and it comes with sako rings. The catch is the stock was broken at the wrist and repaired. I was hoping some one could ballpark a value on the gun. Unfortunately I do not have any pictures.

Next question is what are the odds of finding a factory stock? I know boyds inlets for the action but I was wondering if anybody knew of a place where a factory stock could be found?

Last question is what would a fair value be on said barreled action sitting in a new boyds stock? I see the same guns advertised between $1200 - $1600 dollars in the factory wood but I doubt the boyds stock would bring a similar price.

Any help would be appreciated.

Try sako for a replacement stock I have two sako 7mm hvy barrels from the same era. America is the place to find a factory
stock. My guns came from there and didn't cost very much

If it were me and I really wanted the rifle I would buy it and shoot it, lots of stock repairs are very well done and the rifle shoots as good as ever. I have an old husky in 30-06 that had a broken grip at one time and was repaired, gun shoots 100%. FS

Its not so much that I want the rifle but the price seems right to me. My thinking was if a replacement stock could be found for a decent price there could be a dollar or two made. I'm new to sako's so I wanted a second opinion on what the gun is worth / could be worth. I could be totally out to lunch but I'd hate to pass it up if it's worth fixing.

The repair itself looks pretty ugly. 2 large wood screws run through the top and bottom of the pistol grip with a lot of epoxy in the crack. It may still shoot well but I'd want it looking a little nicer if it was mine

What's the asking price? That determines everything..............I bought a Sako A III barreled action in 375 H&H for $750.00..........I happened to have a beautiful tiger stripe Sako stock just waiting for it to fall into..........I now have a $1500.00 375 Wby in a Sako AIII !!

that does sound rather unprofessional as far as the repair goes`. I guess if I was looking at some thing like that I'd be a real low ball on my offer, like $900.. FS
