Need a little advice please

I'm going down to WWS in Edm tomorrow (2.5 hrs away). I bought a new RCBS Supreme kit last time i was in town but didn't have time to grab anything else. Just a turn-n-burn trip.
This time I'm going to grab a couple sets of dies for .223 and .45ACP. Figured that would be a good starting place for reloading as I have a lot of my used brass in those calibers. Not to mention a reloading Manual to show the way- so to speak.
I won't have much time there though. Could I please get some advice on the following items as to what would work the best for a noob?
Type of powder for .223 -
Type of powder for .45ACP-
Type of primers for each above-
Best general Manual to get-
I was thinking to try some 62grFMJ/100, & some 55grFMJ for the .223 (bulk).
And some 230grJHP for the .45. It likes those already.
Of course, I will be reading the manual PRIOR to attempting any reloading. I just am a little short on time this trip.
I bought an ultrasonic cleaner already.
If there is anything you guys think i might need (on a budget) initially, please feel free to advise. ie. better scale, trimmer, brushes...ect. It's all appreciated. My first venture into reloading.

For .223, any of these powders will be fine: Winchester 748, Hodgdon 335, IMR 4895, Hodgdon H4895. For .45, Winchester 231 is fine.

For your .223, any kind of "small rifle" primer will be fine. For your .45, any kind of "large pistol" primer. Consider buying 1,000 of each.

I like the Hodgdon manual, I find the Speer one a bit slim on variety. The Lyman loading manual has a great variety of interesting and unusual loads.
 
Other pistol powders to consider would be TiteGroup and Bullseye. Both are popular and in common use.

I suggest that you get the Lee 4 die set for the .45ACP. This will include the Lee Factory Crimp Die that will make sure your final product will fit into your pistol chamber. Die sets from other companies can leave you with a slight bulge in the case that will cause problems chambering the round. The LEE FCD will solve this, and as a bonus, the LEE dies are usually the least expensive.

Also, the Hodgdon website is a good source of loading data, though you should still have at least one manual.

If you are using mixed .223 range brass to reload, be aware that some brands will have a crimped primer pocket. That means that you need to open up the primer pocket a bit to push a new primer in. You can either use something like a burring tool in a Dremel, or the more elegant method is the Dillon Super Swage tool, which would be my choice if you do a lot of .223. Unfortunately, I don't believe WWS sells Dillon, but you can order direct from Dillon Precision in the US. No problem with it coming across the border, either.

The .223 is a CQ556 and clone 1911 for the .45. I plan on reloading for my other rifles too in the future when I get better at it.
 
Get the "ABC's of Reloading". It's about $25 and worth it time and time again. Step by step pic's. Lots of direction for those of us that didn't have a mentor to draw from.

Make sure your pistol dies have a carbide sizer. No need to lube cases.

Your 230 HP are the most expensive bullets made. I suggest cast lead bullets./ Buy some 230 gr RN and some 200 gr SWC. I use the 200 SWC in all my 45s and they feed just fine and make nice round cheap holes.

As for powders, I suggest IMR 7625. It is a medium speed and fills the case well. Meters well, too. A double charge will over flow the case. That is important.

For your 223 other powders to consider are H335 and BLC2. Ball powders that meter perfectly.

LOL. It's not that. Taking my 72 year old mom back home. Have work tomorrow. I don't follow hockey and have another surgury coming up, followed by 1-2 months at home unable to lift more than 5 lbs. Going to have down time and need to be productive.

A little off topic ... but still very relevant. WSS will price match both Cabelas as well as Bass Pro. I got my rcbs supreme master reloading kit price matched from bass pro for $339 down from $479 and my rcbs die set for 32 instead of 45. They just went to the competition's web site and matched it after verifying it was the same product.
