Hey there I have a 65 Anschutz CIL 310 .22 the scope on it has pretty much bit the dust. I know there are lots of options but how do I go about mounting it . Some of the newer scopes seem to mount quite a bit different then my guns original. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really don't know where to start .

As much as i know those Anschutz have either a 11mm or std grooves for either rings or a mount. So get a pair of Warnes 7.3 wich fit both size of grooves and slap on something like a RIMFIRE 2to7 or 3to9 scope or up to 12X with some kind of parallax adjustment and rock on! On my BRNO 581 i mounted a Sightron SIH 1.75-4X32 tuned down to 35 meters. IMHO a serious piece of glass for a rimfire.

x2 Nikon Prostaff Rimfire and a set of Warnes

Any rimfire scope mounts--Leupold, Warne, Talley, etc.--designed for an 11mm. dovetail will work. Some rimfire mounts are designed for the narrower 3/8" dovetail found on some rifles, and, although these might work, I'd avoid them and be sure to get mounts that will clamp properly into the 11mm. grooves. If appearance matters to you, the Talleys look the best to me:

As for scope choice, the use you will put the rifle to will dictate that. If you're going to be mainly bench or target shooting, then a higher-power scope will be best. One scope that I've noticed a lot of precision shooters prefer is the Leupold 6.5-20X40. On the other hand, if you want to use the rifle for hunting, then I'd go to a low-end variable, like a 2-7 or, at most, a 3-9.

A rimfire scope is a good set-up for your rifle. The Nikon Rimfire scope is decent enough in the glass department and the price is reasonable. If your going to spend more - do some research and look though a bunch of scope so they can be compared against each other.
