Need a new SKS buffer. What style?

If it's so needed, why wasn't something like this incorporated into the design of so many other semi auto rifles? Or any other semi auto rifles?

Because its a gimmick. and not only that, it deteriorates very quickly from increased recoil energy. We're shooting SKS guns almost 80 years old. How many wore out because they didn't have this?

The idea of the buffer is to stop metal to metal contact with the rear housing (breech cover) and the bolt carrier. However, the bolt carrier does not contact the cover. Putting a buffer in will transfer any shock load from the back of the receiver to the cover that was never designed to take the shock. As mentioned previously, snake oil. What people need to do is take the SKS apart and try to see how it all works befor adding somethng to it.
Just because I could, I made a gas regulator for one of my SKSs. I can adjust it down till the spent casings eject just a couple of feet from the receiver. This almost eliminates any shock to the rear. The SKS was designed to go full bore so that it would work under any adverse conditions. for putting holes in paper, all that gas is not needed. And no, the regulator did not alter any main component of the carbine.

...okay, i'm stupid...where precisely do these go?...just can't picture it...thanks

Is it getting a little thick in here?
So it's the gas and piston we feel as slight recoil in the SKS and not actual (slight) recoil? Not allowing some of the gas to act on the piston ...which will affect of course, how had the bolt carrier slams back...but...is it really the gas/bolt slam-back that we're feeling?
So if you were to chop the barrel to behind the gasblock. Essentially making it into a single shot, there would be a lot less recoil?
Maybe I suppose? Hmm.

Forget wearing out because they didn't have a buffer, how many have even worn out?!?
And DILLIGAF posted the correct installation instructions but to save time you can just wipe your ass with 5 bucks and flush it down the drain. I bought an SKS with a buffer once. It just made the action a little quieter. I threw it out cos it was stupid.

If you like em use em, Its your gun. The H shaped ones might be worth a try. I was looking at them myself but for 30$ + tax and shipping that's 1/5 price on the gun itself for a piece of plastic I could make myself I cant bring my self to it.
