Need a No Fail trick for bears

Go ti timmies and get all the day old donuts before they throw them out at the end of the night! Cheap and easy! :)

Also, if there's a local butcher shop anywhere around, they'll have a lot fo trim and stuff, and once in a while there will be some meat that has started to turn that they can't sell. I work next door to one, and believe me, the compost dumpster smells for a LONG way out. Just make sure you've got some gloves, somethign to cover your face, and some buckets with tight sealign lids. Amazing stinkbait.

So for the second year in a row, I've baited hard, taken over 300 trail cam pics of 3 bears and less than a week before the season they disappeared. My last bear on cam was August 26, I bait every 24-48 hours with corn, molasses, dog food, used deep fryer oil, vanilla extract etc. and recently have even tried some meat, cakes and bread. All I'm getting is raccoons and a fox now. Any ideas what's wrong? I gotta find a way to get one before the goose hunt gets going.... Thanks

first thing that comes to mind is you have another bear hunter in the area that's spraying your bait down right before the season so they move to his bait.
Go for a look around, bet there's someone else close by.
Check your barrel for anything that looks like bug spray or dish soap etc.
You might have to clean up and start over.
otherwise-
Imo you are at your bait too much.the more you are there the more likely you are to get caught.Always wear rubber boots when baiting and get in and out as quickly and quietly as possible.
Birds bring bears!
Sacrifice a loaf of white bread...throw it around so any raven going by will see it and home in.A handful of ravens making a fuss is a dinner bell for bears.
slop some of that fryer grease up high onto the trees for scent.A dollar store super squirter works good ;)
beaver is great bait, always my #1 choice.Pork trim, donuts are always good too.
deer is good too.I always saved my venison scraps in onion bags, frozen in the freezer.
up high in a tree where the sun can get them, once they turn they will bring bears from miles.
good luck!

This is going to sound really strange....Bear Spray! Heard of friends that had sprayed some in an area not too far from camp, and found the bear rolling in the dirt where they sprayed the day before....Obviously it will stink for miles, and its only a deterant if you spray it in the bears face...give it a shot

It seams to me that if you had bears coming to your bait there is nothing wrong with that bait. I would suspect someone has run dogs off your bait. Just my thought.

Running Hounds off a bait won't hurt it a bit. Once a bear finds a bait, providing there is something there he wants to eat, he'll keep coming back. So will every other bear in the nieghborhood. Bears follow each other around--thats why the grease on the ground thingy works so well.
Brotherrockeye might be on to something--I know exactly how to kill a bait so you would never know. It might also be some natural food source that has just come into season that they want more than your bait. In this area we don't often get mountain ash berries but if they or hazel nuts hit heavy then my baits will go cold--nothing works.
Keep experimenting with different baits but I believe fresh is always better than stinky.

Once they get into the beech nuts you will have a hard time to get them back out to your bait.DAN>>>

2 years in a row...1 week before the season opens...bears disappear...
sure sounds like a leech baiter to me...

I've baited bears for years and the ONLY reason a bait goes stone dead is if it's messed with.If a bait is active it will get visits. They don't ALL just stop coming by coincidence!

I'd be going for an exploration hike myself...
