Need a WHOLE bunch of dog leads

Unless you are using rope, you ain't going to find them for a buck or two apeace...as the hardware is what cost the money.

For SAR, and wilderness lines I used 1/2" wide cotton webbing, which is far safer on your hands, and doesn't knot up as much, and add my own hardware.

Check your local dollar store you can sometimes find decent ones for $1 each or go to CT and buy the stuff to make your own

Get some rope and learn how to do an eye splice. Make an eye splice in one end large enpough to put your hand through. on the other end do an eye splice and incorperate a snap. When the dog chews through it just cut the snap out and splice up a new lead.

I use gun slings.I have a ####load of slings and use the end for the front swivel for the snap and the other for my hand. They work really well.I'll sell a bunch for $5 each.

Splice a loop on either end as Big Guy says, but instead of splicing a snap into the small end use a quick link and put the snap on it.If he snap ever screws up just undo the quick link and replace the snap.I did this on halter shanks on the farm for my horses and it works great.

I make my own out of webbing and I usually purchase the snap swivels in bulk so they work out to be about a dollar ea. You can purchase quality webbing by the foot or M, or if you know they're not going to last because of the dogs chewing habits, pick up some cheap cargo straps and use that webbing. A couple of good quality needles from Wal-Mart's sewing aisle, along with a spool of xtra-strong upholstery thread and you're in business. Incidentally, I run four beagles.
