Need advice for first AR-15

Hello,
I've been shooting for a few years, I would like to pickup my first AR-15
looking for some input on what should I go for for my first AR and what are some good brand names to keep in mind.

Lots of choices & some good deals right here on the EE. If you just want a plinker at the range, stick with a 16" chrome lined carbine with a removable carry handle. Best prices are on these basic AR's. I'm not a Norc fan, but guy's who own them claim there good. Me? I'd stick with a Bush Master or Armalite at around the $1000 mark. Give or take.
