Just wondering if anyone here is using the RCBS Pro-Melt Furnace and what you think of it? I've been using a Lee and it has served me well but it leaks a lot and does not seem to be getting up to the temperatures it used to anymore.
The Pro Melt is a very good furnace. Pricey, but worth it in my experience. Holds temperature very stable. I've had no leaking from the spigot. Plenty of heat range. Glue (epoxy) a couple of rare earth magnets to the base to hold the Allan wrenches used to adjust the mould rest and flow and they will always be handy.
The Pro Melter is an excellent pot and you won't regret buying it. I mounted my Lee Leakomatic over top of my Pro Melter by reversing the Lee on it's stand then bolting to a frame I built. All my sprew and new alloy ingots go directly into the Lee and when the Pro Melter requires filling I just pour from my Lee pot. Works great and speeds the whole process up.
Get the RCBS. Buy it from Lock Stock and Barrel, or Midsouth in the US. Much cheaper than WSS and perfectly legal. Or do as I did and buy a used one from Ebay.
