Bait for swine
If you think you have an area that they frequent, especially feed, dig holes about 8-12 in deep, put in cracked corn and cover with the dirt. They have to dig it out(root) to eat..un-like cobs...which they will grab and run off with. (This is what we did in France and Germany, and it works, except we shot from hi stands) That should give you enough time to get a shot off. They are very alert, practice track discipline..one way in and out. If they cut your trail, they will spook. I dont reccomend buck shot...the armour in the shoulder area is very thick combined with the hide..slug will do the trick very well though. If you hit one..it will most likely run, give it time to settle down..have that smoke if you have em..then carefully, and cautiously track it. Be warry of females with young..very nasty...and when pumped up, can take a lot of not well placed lead...In europe they are mostly hunted on moonlit nights over feeding stations(as above), when they are most active, or daytime with dogs. In this game the hunter needs every edge. Are you allowed to hunt with hounds..if so, thats what I would do..most effective hunting method during daylight hours...put shooters on known trails, and hang on..fast and furious shooting. Be aware of your partners location at all times...
