Need advice, new precision rifle shooter

An armband like the sunrise tactical one would be ideal. It should have at least three panels of information, one on top that's visible when it's closed and two under the flap that you see when you open it.

We are looking at something that won't be bulky.I have seen ones that have two flip out panels, but I personally don't like that design. What you suggested is something we are looking at. Also looking at have the carrier hold at least two emergency rounds horizontally on the outside of the wrist......not sure if it will be a detachable two round holder or an attached feature.

Hey guys, thread revival.
I has another question as to building a PRS rifle.
What trigger weight do you guys run?
Mine has just been thru a home tune up, and ended lighter than wanted.
I am at a crisp 2#, i run all my handguns and rimfire rifles at 2.5#, so 2# feels light.

Well... I am sort of like a copycat, when I find that let's say 95% of the top guys run something a certain way, even if not comfortable at first I will try to adapt to it.
Saves a lot of R&D down the road lol.
So if there is a general concensus on what trigger weight should be on a precision tactical rifle rig, I will works towards achieving that weight, comfortable or not.

Would you be comfortable using you rem for hunting or practical shooting courses?
For your savage going lighter than 2.3 is real easy, just a little bit of 1000 grit to the sear brings it down and fast.
Just order a spare sear and tinker on spare and keep oem intact.

For my Remy's I'll keep them as target rifles. It's just my personal preference to be on the 1.8 - 2.0 lbs mark. I still have a feel of trigger before it releases.

I'll try your advice on the Savage. See if I can get them down a bit more.

:)

I just read your first post. If you are in the Ottawa (or area) you may end up shooting with us snobs (so called) at Connaught. You are more than welcome to come and have a wack at 900m any Sunday am! It is November now and most of us snobs are tucked in for the winter. The SR guys are still shooting as are the SP pistol guys. I will try to keep an eye on this if you would like to get out. CGN is not monitored by most at NCRRA so feel free to reply and if I will try to keep and eye on this and hopefully I will not miss your post.

Thanks for confirming, will have to mod a new sear then.
The one I have just tinkered goes to maximum 2# with the accutrigger cranked to max.
Will try to aim to have something adjustable from 2#to3#, well see where my limited mech skills will bring me. It now confirms that 2.5# is what I wish to have, all my firearms have their triggers set to exactly that.

Ian, thanks for the invite.
I am supposed to learn to shoot this from a guy at Connaught, once I go there i'll send you a message and we can formally meet.
I will not be shooting before x-mas though, finished building rifle but have no optics, and I wish to have all my x-mas shopping done before spending on myself.

Where did you get the Sunrise Tactical armband from? It doesnt seem like they ship to Canada. Is there a local distributor?

Just got my Armband and a Shooting mat from them and can attest to Scott being an awesome guy! He made an custom add on for my mat, free of charge and even put a rush on my order, and completed it on a Sunday in order for it to arrive while I'm south of the border visiting family! Workmanship is second to none, and I feel like if you had any issues, he would have them corrected asap. Armband feels rock solid without too much unnecessary fabric.

+1 for Sunrise Tactical

Agree. Spoke to Scott on phone, ordered a wrist coach and was at my house in Phoenix in two days.
