Need advice on an obnoxious child

Pure AWESOME! I'd be honored to be shooting next to that. Shooting isn't a quite sport, I don't understand people that get bent out of shape over muzzle blast, deal with it or take up archery.

It's not the noise but the concussion that is the problem.

I go to the range to shoot small groups not spray and pray just to waste ammo and make a bunch of noise.

If I'm shooting and you show up with such a break and wanna shoot next to me, you will hear about it. Especially if your a goof who can't even shoot, and just show up for the. Mall ninja cool factor!

Making a gun louder for no reason but your idea of fun, is the equivalent to these idots in their rice burners with a $2 chinese muffler with no baffles. It actually hurts the function of the car, but they think it sounds cool, and rip around like their 125 horse honda does a 10 second 1/4 mile.

I'm no fudd, and appreciate a muzzle brake for what it does, and the primary concern here should be function. Like I said if you can shoot well, and your brake helps then by all means, but too many mall ninja's wanna just let loose from the 10m line, and look cool with their geyed out AR.

It's a free world. I like shooting tiny groups, but sometimes I like to let rip and just have some fun. Unless you're at a private range the guy next to you has just as much right to enjoy shooting the way he wants to as you do shooting small groups. Why don't you go tell all the Harley idiots their mufflers actually hurt the performance of their bikes and do nothing but make noise. Yes they annoy me at times too but I suck it up. You say you're not a fudd but are exhibiting the exact same mindset, you want to dictate your preferences on others.

I'll say it same as I did in the last thread.

Looking for function is one thing, but looking to simply be obnoxious?

Thats pretty much the definition of douchebag......

I get what you're saying.
Trouble is, guns are loud and ranges are where we shoot guns.
Pretty sure my Troy Claymore gets its name from sounding like a mine going off... It's suppose to send the noise down range, but with a covered shooting line, the concussion goes everywhere.

I agree 100% that it's pretty douchy to try to be obnoxious on purpose, but my favorite gun is effin loud and I go to the range to shoot, not talk.

I dont think. Its douche at all. Keep in my mind i have other ar that i shoot groupings with. This build is more for the end of the day gun. Just a few loud rounds down range before i leave. Just like if someone got a 50ae pistol, just for the fun factor. I also take a lot of new people shooting and it would be fun for them to shoot to.

Couldn't you get an air horn attachment and also a fart simulator then when you "let go" people would really notice and think "that's really obnoxious". Phil.

It's about having courtesy and consideration for those around you. I don't go to the range just to get a concussion headache from the guy next to me that is just making noise so I kinda agree with mlehtovaara and don't consider that to be Fuddly. I have loud guns and enjoy shooting them but I'm less likely to use those as much on a busy day at the range because I want everyone to enjoy their day and not just me.
If someone pulled out a 7.5 with a nice brake that blew all the blast right at me he would get to sit next to my 338 Lapua with the brake blasting him to see what it feels like.

I agree about the exhausts but you forgot about the stupid 5 inch straight pipes on everyone's turbodiesel these days. They think they are the coolest because they chip it up and blow black smoke all over probably not realizing that they need more air and that they only did half the job.
I care less about the noise from all the fat exhausts than I care about when someone does it just for looks and to make noise, it's just plain douchery to do it just to be obnoxious. If your gonna do it then do it right and balance the system and tune it properly. My RC-51 has loud pipes but between that and the power commander and removing the silly emissions crap there is a definite increase in power. If I could have done it without a substantial increase in db I would have and because it's loud I don't act like a squid cruising up and down the main drag in town in first gear just making noise and hoping people are looking at me, I take it out on the highway and freeways looking for twisty places to play.

Need to make a rail accessory that has one prong sticking straight out. You could put a hotdog on it and have a weinie roast while your shooting with that Crusader. Seeing as our government won't let us make the quieter I guess some will just make them louder.

Im not trying to purposely disturb people but i want something loud for myself. Obviously before i shot i well let the person beside me know it will be loud. If they dont want me shooting it beside them that fine. Ill move to another spot. Its gonna be a rifle i want and enjoy, yes it will be loud but if it starts to disturb people I'll stop.

You'll find after a while it will disturb you as much as the guy next to you. They are fun for a while but then you start getting a headache and it's not as fun anymore. There is a nice balance you need to find. Being loud is pointless unless you are getting a performance increase like reduced recoil but once again there is a balance you should try to find.
If you really want something louder and that's what floats your boat then buy something bigger than a .223 and get some real muzzle blast. I had an MTM cartridge case on the table when shooting my 338 Lapua and the muzzle blast broke the MTM case. Now that's muzzle blast :D

There's a little bit of truth in everyone's posts, and there is always going to be some who dig it and some who won't. It's not my style but IF I had a rig set up the way you're planning, for the consideration of others working on their skills or load development I'd stick to an outdoor range to be less of a PITA. We all expect ranges to be noisy, and big bores that transmit a thump to me from two benches down are pretty cool, but a flame thrower? The indoor range here (Phoenix) has carpeting on the divider sides and bench top that probably would catch fire with a fireball like that unless you crept WAY up on the bench.

Don't you guys wear ear protection at the range? I have never heard a gun that hurts my ears gives me a headache with proper ear protection in. Thankfully this is Canada and he can do as he chooses, and if he wants to put it on there that is his choice as long as his range will allow him to use it there. Some people ##### about loud cars as they drive by their house and it disturbs them, yet they will go outside and mow there lawn at 7 am while everyone is asleep. If he cant shoot his loud gun at the range where can he shoot it? This is a gun range at the end of the day, not a library. Do what pleases you, I wouldn't do it personally but if that's what you like then have at it!

as i posted before, my 7.5 inch DPMS kitty kat would scare people at the range with just an A2 birdcage. I tried to warn the fuds, they would point and laugh like it was a small #####. When i fired off a mag, they were ducking for cover with their hands over their ears.

no matter what you put on your 7.5inch, its gonna be obnoxiously loud. you will feel the wind get sucked out of your chest lol
