need advice on cheap rifle for plinking

I wanna find a cheap rifle for fun shooting along with my handgun. I am not going to reload for it so i would like a caliber that is cheap to get commercial ammo as well (not milsurp ammo though since they are hard to find, i am not ready to go through the trouble for that yet). Looking at $300 max on the rifle with open sight. Will shoot at a range from 100 yrd to 300 yrd.

Any suggestion? I dun mind used ones as long as they are still good to shoot.

$200 for 1120 rounds. Check the ad's up top.

300 yards is going to push the 7.62 x 39 cartridge and if you want open sights then your best bet would be a H&R handi rifle in .223.
