I am looking to change out the stock sights on my M&P 9 to increase my sight acquisition efficiency. I'm pretty sure I want to get fiber optic fronts and a u-notch no dot rear. I have read good things about the 10-8 Performance sights but they seem pretty hard to find anywhere in stock and impossible to find in Canada.

I'm open to other brands that offer the same style, but I don't even know where to start to look. I don't really want night sights as I don't plan on shooting in the dark over daylight. And an oversized dot on the front would seem to me to block even more of the target on an M&P given the type of sight picture needed.

Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Can't really help you but IMO M&P sights (Novaks) are great, I'd put in more rounds at the range before trying to change the sights.

I really agree with IM_Lugger. But for all we know you're looking to move from Master to Grand Master or something like that. Besides customizing guns is a fun hobby in itself, so:

Brownells has Warren Tactical and 10-8. Not sure if they'll have exactly what you want, but they're worth a go. I'd bet good money that you'd have no trouble unloading them here if you didn't like them in the end.

Can someone PLEASE suggest a domestic supplier?! I get really tired of essentially promoting Brownells here. :D

That is always my dilemma too, I don't mind supporting Canadian shops, but their websites seem to be lacking up to date info, and I'm not into driving all around the lower mainland to spend $100.

I may just decide to change out the front sight at first. I am left eye dominant, but a right-handed shooter, so I'm training my right to be stronger. I thought that a brighter front sight would make it easier to track.

... plus I love customizing guns!

Haha, yeah, I hear you.

I'm cross dominant as well (right hand, left eye). So are some really great shooters, and they don't "correct" it. Shooting instructor taught me to use a piece of tape on my glasses to block the sight picture for my right eye. In just the right spot, it lets you still see the target with both eyes (shoot both eyes open), but you can see the sights only with your dominant eye.

I put tru glo fibre sights on mine and I absolutely love them. They glow under the smallest amount of light. I put
Mine on with a brass punch and a bore laser as opposed to a sight tool though

I can't stand the Novaks. I got a Hi-Viz front and a Warren Tactical rear. Great sight combo IMO. I found it a lot faster to shoot and keep that front sight on target once I switched them out.
Here is a photo of my two M&Ps with their respective sights.
As for 10-8 Hilton makes great stuff. I spoke with him a couple of times about getting some 1911 parts from him. I ended up having to get them shipped to my hotel when i was stateside as he will not ship to Canada. His swoop 1911 grips are fantastic just a pain to get.

I just bought some warren tactical/sevigny sights from Brant. Amazing sights!! They even installed them for free, after i told them i was gonna try and do it with a nylon punch and hammer. These were on a glock by the way but im sure youd have similar results.
