Need affordable binos

Well, I'm not sure how these will work out, but should be okay for my basic needs. I just picked these up, will report back in a couple days.

Recently got myself the Nikon Prostaff 3S 10x42 on sale at Cabela's for $149.99, regular 189.99 I believe. I have always liked Nikon and found them to have very clear crisp glass and these bino's are no different. Great optic for the price.

Well, Amazon delivers fast when they're local and you have prime. So the Pentax up 8-16 came in, they are porro prism. Great little compact binos for the cost, clear enough on all powers. Eye relief is medium short but very workable for me, exit pupil is small. I'm happy with them, but one thing to keep in mind is they are not waterproof.

Well I picked up a pair of leupold Yosemite 8x binos on clearance at a local store. First impression isn't too good, feels cheap, the adjustable eye cups don't hold their position very well, with a little pressure they just slide back. They seemed clear enough though. I'll give them a try over the next week moose hunting.

You can't go wrong with Bushnell excursions.

To the OP, I see Frontier Firearms has Bushnell Excursion 8x42 marked down from 199 to 139 and by all accounts a very good binocular. Waterproof, coated lenses.

I own a set of these and the clarity are quite remarkable.
Second day on my long away from home hunt the gewfy shoulder strap
fruck'in things let go on one side.
Had to carry them the rest of the day.
Then had to sort thru me jackets to find a pawkitt these krippled binos would
fit in.
Not a pleasant surprise.

Called Busnell and they wish for me to send them in for repair.
Figured I am wasting me time with the Bushnell offerings.

Those plastic shoulder strap thingies will fail, it's just a matter of time.

The button on the end of the strap or the mount on the bino?

I hung up on a corner and blew the end off the strap. Figured to make a metal one some day, if I ever figure I really need a strap for a bitty pair of binos.

First issue was a the button and Bushnell sent me a pair of new ones.
Then the bino insert mounts cracked and the hinged spring loaded piece fell out.
What a pain in the culo.

If you're using the strap that comes with it, you're doing it wrong. Try using a harness. I don't think you'll be disappointed. You can literally carry them all day without noticing they are there.
