Need an accurate load for 180gr, 165gr in 30-06 for my t3 lite

Im interested in what you are using?

I have IMR4895 and would like to know what your best load is using this powder in 165 and 180gr.

I have a box of hornady interlock btsp to use up, but wouldnt hesitate to get into nosler partitions.

And buying different powders is not an issue either.

4350, either variety, is the go to powder for accuracy and efficiency in a 30-06, with 165, 180 bullets.

I shoot 50.0 gr of IMR 4895 and 165 grain SST's in my 30-06's. Depending which manual you look at, and how lawyerized it is, this may be over max in some, or not near max in others. So work up your loads accordingly, probably starting around 46.0 gr. I've never seen pressure signs in my rifles however.

However, H4831 is right, that overall, a slower powder like 4350, or RL-17 is going to get you more horsepower.

my hunting load is 59 grn of imr4350 with 168grn barnes tsx (this is over the published max, careful)
my target load is 57 grn of imr4350 with 168 grn seirra match kings

both are the most accurate loads i could get with my m700 with those bullets, i tried imr 4831 but i couldnt get it to shoot as well.

What shoots well in another rifle may not be the best for accuracy in yours. IMR4895 is an accurate powder with 165 gr bullets in the .30-06. So are IMR 4350, 4320, 4064 and Varget. You need to experiment with particular bullet/propellant combo to find the sweet spot in each rifle.

For the 165gr I'd start with IMR4064 or IMR4895 and for the 180gr, IMR4350.

IMR 4064 has an ancient target relationship with 168 grainers in the 30-06. That's what Cooper uses to shoot those little bug sized test groups.

I'm useing Varget in my Cooper, mostly because the custom loader I found in Australia couldn't get IMR powders. It doesn't seem to matter much which 165 grain bullet I seat on top of 50.5 grains of Varget, everything shoots. Whats uncanny is that there are 6 or 7 bullets that shoot to the same zero and track to the engraved CDS dial out to 600.

its 2012 try some of the high energy powders like RL17 extreemly accurate and 2830fps in 22" barrel

Picked up a jug of IMR 4350, will have to give it a go. It didnt mind 47gr of IMR 4895 the other night. Will speed em up a little before seeing what the IMR 4350 can do.

Any good suggestions for a hunting bullet in 180gr? I dont want to get into the TSX stuff. I like the energy to dump inside the animal, not zip on through down the cutline.
