Need an Iver Johnson expert!

I recently bought an Iver Johnson american bulldog model no.1 . I noticed that it doesn't have a cylinder stop. The gun is timed perfectly and always comes to battery. I asked the former owner about this and was told none of these models had a cylinder stop. I tried researching this on the web but couldn't find anything. Anyone got any thoughts? thanks
