Need base and rings for Tikka T3

Hi,
I was wondering if someone could recommend rings and bases for a Tikka T3 in 3006. I have a Bushnell Elite 3X9 scope. I personally like the Tikka ones but was told Leopold are just as good and are cheaper. Money of course is a concern as always.

Used alot of different rings and bases on the Tikkas including the Optilocks.
For the money the Talley one piece lightweights are the way to go without question :cool:
 
Hi Mike, welcome to the board by the way. If you do buy the Leupold bases, observe the length of the machine screws that come with the bases. There is a short set which is meant to mount on the thinner part of the receiver. The difference is very negligible but will cause your bolt to bind if screwed in the wrong place. Having the so called "gunsmith" at the store mount your bases does not necessarily guarantee good results - I speak from experience. :)

Thanks for everyone's input. I'll have to do a little more reading before I decide for sure. I've never even heard of Talley's before and it sounds like they deserve some consideration. I may still go with the Leopold's but it sounds like the Weaver and Burris's Z's are pretty good.

Bases and rings

Thanks for everyones input. I ended up getting a great deal on some Optilock bases from Smokin Gun and a set of rings off Ebay. I am very pleased with the set up I now have.
