Looking for suggestions for a cantilever or should I just use 30MM high rings to mount a scope on my AR15, I'll be mounting it on a VLTOR CASV-EL rail so I'll have a longer and more soilid foundation, plus it'll float the barrel too.
The scope is a Leupold MK4 16X 40mm, with fine cross hairs & Mildot center. It took me along time to find this scope, with the reticle that I wanted.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions:)

With the already elevated rail on the Casv I would go with some qd rings. Using an adm or larue or Burris pepr mount would only aggravate the mechanical offset and could result on the need for a cheek piece.

Thanks for the suggestions TDC, however, I might not go with the CASV-EL because it leaves to much of the barrel exposed. I don't want a full length railed HG either, it'll add to much front weight.

I use the Vortex 3" offset mounts. They put the scope forward enough for shooting positions, and still offer you the option of mounting the scope further back if you want to. The 2" offset ones don't give you any flexibility. I like the non-QD mounts because they're half the price and don't have anything sticking out to snag on.

If you decide on a different rail then the ADM or Larue will work well. As for rail, if you don't want rails(which I too find kind of pointless) have a look at a Troy/Vtac Alhpa rail. Lightwight and uses the factory barrel nut.
