NB a ram rod for the P1853 muzzle loader will not fit a Snider. The Snider rod is lighter and when the conversion to breech loader was done the front band had a shim braised in to compensate.

Mine has the threads missing when I bought the gun, I could braize an inch or two onto the end and thread it, but I like original untouched stuff.
