Need comment about I Run Gun store

Sent them an e-mail a month or so ago inquiring on importing a hg...never got a reply from them..oh well

Don't people get that these people are running a business and trying to make their paying customers happy and get their paid for merchandise out on time?
Can you imagine how many triflers call and email with bogus potential orders and they are just B.S artists?
I ran a business for five years and had no shortage of triflers wasting my valuable time and never buying a thing and drinking my coffee for free, meanwhile I had invoices pending for legitimate customers that I can't get after because of these triflers.
If you want a product read the business rules, understand the price and the currency it is sold in, order and pay for your item, wait patiently for it to come bearing in mind it is crossing a border and don't phone and interrupt the process wondering where it is and then be pissy when it takes a month, because that is roughly the turnaround time.

That's part of business, you need to spend the time replying and dealing with the people that don't buy because they might come back and they talk to other people. Also in all those emails there will be a customer in there somewhere, many people also base whether they will buy on how they are dealt with and how timely the responses are.

Exactly. Everyone who contacts you is a potential customer and should get a response, in the day of smartphones and the vast technology we have. It takes seconds to respond to an email and even a response with a 'copy & pasted' form letter could suffice to gain a potential customer. If you don't respond, you definitely will not get that guy's business.

So you feel as if they are doing us a favor????

How???

You pay for the service & you should get it, its amazing how many people pay nd stick up for someone not doing their job.

How long would you have a job if you didnt do whats expected from you?

I agree it is part of business but not at the expense of the paying customers. Paying customers are the priority and the emails are answered and phone messages answered when the priority business is completed.
First come first serve, first pay first serve, business triage as it were. Also these guys are on a time deadline each month trying to get all orders received before the 15th cut off processed and out their door in their once monthly shipment to Sherwood Park, Alberta and then out to customers in Canada.
For example the guy that wanted his email sent on Dec 30, 2013 answered is not likely in their busiest time of year with Christmas, Boxing Day and Boxing week specials going on and trying to process that.

All of their prices are in American dollars. Some of the prices are 50% higher than the price at some gun stores in the states. I have to ask myself , how bad do I want this gun to pay that much extra for it. Somebody's makin a lot of money, check the prices.

Bought a S&W AR from Jason last year and have to say that I was very happy. No issues at all. Will buy from them again if the need arises.

I just wrote a very long post that had to delete ...

IT all came down to this: I have found that Canada, in comparison to other countries (3rd world or 1st World) has the worst customer service. I think this is because of having un qualified, minimum wage employees who feel no passion or love for the services or products offered. Sad but true.
As a result, Canadians will settle for a less than average product or service, I think you guys are too polite to complain, the result is sad: businesses that go out of business because no one goes back and the business owner does not know why.
Complain more (have you seen the suggestion box? if not ask for it or ask for a manager), that way you are making the business owner a favour. That is how businesses thrive.

before someone starts flaming with internet hate, I would like to say that there are great stores and shops that offer great services, and I am sure this happens throughout the country. In my province I have had mixed experiences, and I have lived in different cities. Results were mixed. I own 2 businesses and we deal with contractors so besides being a client as anyone else, I also have to deal and hire contractors. Again, experiences were mixed. Overall, it is very hard to find reliable service. Even when asking for quotes.

Salud!

I used IRG last summer to bring in a Anaconda I got off gunbroker. The experience was a very positive one. I will use them again. With shipping and their import fee, the price was still much less than you would ever see on the EE for that revolver.

I ordered a handgun from them; already in Canada. The longest part of the process was gov. paperwork to clear. From order to delivery took 2 weeks and that was more than acceptable . All the emails/phone calls were answered within a day or two. So; long story short I give them high marks in my books!

Ordered a BNIB Mini-14 in late December, in my hands as of yesterday. The price is undoubtedly higher than what it should be based on prices in the US. However, not being the patient type, I didn't want to wait like some others for months/years to find one here. The site indicated that prices are in USD, which given the exchange rate made the overall price even higher (but acceptable to me given the aforementioned lack of patience). Shipped in the factory cardboard box, wrapped in a garbage bag, wrapped in plastic. Firearm arrived in perfect shape as far as I can tell. The two 20-rd mags were in individual ziplock bags, and pinned. Haven't had a chance to see if the mags work well yet, but will say that the pinning doesn't look first rate (pins not perfectly flush for example).

My only gripe is that being local to me, I wish they offered a pick up option, particularly once payment has been made. Communication was passable over the process, so no complaints there.

I'd order from them again.

There are good deals to be had, I bought a POF P308 rifle from IRG during their boxing day sale for $2500, I could only find one place in Canada that had the same rifle in stock and that was at Leverarms, their price was $3850.
